Pure Lime Mortar Premix

Pure Lime Mortar acts in the same way as lime putty, but comes in the form of a powder. Just add water and you are ready to start applying the mortar. The Mortar Pre-mix is most commonly used for pointing tight joints and beds, as well as repointing mortar and building works. Our dry hydraulic lime mortars can be used for internal or external works and come in many different colours and two textures, perfect for achieving the best possible match with any existing brickwork or a particular building style.

Two different sand textures are available:

RG – Our standard sized grit around 2 mm, for most pointing and brickwork

CG – Our coarser grit, around 3 mm for wider joints, typically 1/2 inch and above

Two different strengths are available: Medium (NHL 3.5) & Strong (NHL 5)

Available in 25kg bags or sealed 1000kg bulk bags.

Lime Green Product, all colours are made to order therefore a lead time of approx. 7 working days applies plus delivery. 2 bag minimum order on most colours.

Application Guide

Typical application:

Solid brick and stone walls, lintels, sandstone, walls without movement joints, pointing brick slips - Natural Lime Mortar Medium

Cavity walls, work above rooflines, chimneys, hard impermeable stonework, retaining walls - Natural Lime Mortar Strong

Apply the mortar using normal tools and techniques for brick laying and pointing. Work in temperatures between 5°C and 30°C, making sure the wall is not in strong direct sunlight where high surface temperatures can occur.

Coverage and Yield:

To produce 1m3 of mixed mortar, allow 1.5 to 1.7 tonnes of dry premix product.

For laying bricks you will typically require 1kg of dry premix per brick on a 10mm bed, though this will vary depending on if there is a frog and the brick dimensions.

For repointing brickwork with a 10mm joint, a typical consumption figure would be 7kg per m2 , with variation depending on the bond pattern.

Repointing stonework will vary depending on the size of the stones, the joint size and the coursing; typically 20 to 25 kg per m2 for pointing rubble stone walling, considerably less for well coursed masonry.
